仿木欄桿具有攔阻功能，也是分隔空間的一個重要構(gòu)件。設計時應結(jié)合不同的使用場所，要充分考慮欄桿的強度、穩(wěn)定性和耐久性；其次要考慮欄桿的造型美，突出其功能性和裝飾性。常用材料有鑄鐵、鋁合金、不銹鋼、木材、竹子、混凝土等。

仿木欄桿大致分為以下3種：
The imitation wood railing can be roughly divided into the following three types:
1、矮欄桿，高度為30-40cm，不妨礙視線，多用于綠地邊緣。也用于場地空間領域的劃分。

2、高欄桿，高度在90cm左右，有較強的分隔與攔阻作用。

3、防護欄桿，高度在100-120cm以上，超過人的，以起防護圍擋作用。一般設置在高臺的邊緣，可使人產(chǎn)生感。

扶手，設置在坡道、臺階兩側(cè)，高度為90cm左右，室外踏步級數(shù)超過了3級時必須設置扶手，以方便老人和殘障人使用。供輪椅使用的坡道應設高度0.65m與0.85m兩道扶手。
